He was formerly a student at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Technology, Delhi University. He has written a book on “VLSI Design” and is also a member of the IEEE and the AFIPS. He has also been involved in various technical events, being a speaker in various conferences and workshops. His main research interest is in the area of VLSI design and he has taken an active role in the development of high-level tools for VLSI design. He has previously worked at Philips in the area of FPGA design and system-on-chip design.
He was elected as a Fellow of the IEEE in 2013 and won the award for IEEE Fellow from the IEEE Electron Devices Society in 2015. He has also won the IEEE Delhi Area Student Chapter Award for the Best Eminent Lecturer, which was presented by IEEE Delhi Area Student Chapter in 2007. He has also won the Asam University Gold Medal for Best Applied Student in 2004..
